Celestite occurs mainly in sedimentary rocks, particularly dolomites, dolomitic limestones, and marls, either as a direct precipitate from aqueous solutions or, more usually, by the interaction of gypsum or anhydrite with Sr-rich waters. Beds of celestite are therefore found immediately above or below gypsum or anhydrite deposits. The geode forms by groundwater depositing the mineral into cavities of the host rock.

An ancient belief is that celestite was formed by a choir of angels which helped give it the nickname "The Stone of Heaven".

It is believed to be a crystal of love, joy, and light; bringing peace and harmony to those that carry it. Known for reducing stress and anxiety. As an angel crystal, it brings an angelic presence to protect from evil.

Care information

Most gemstones can be cleaned with water and mild detergent. Use a soft cloth or soft brush such as a baby brush or toothbrush with soft bristles to scrub them if necessary. Avoid scrubbing too hard and scratching the stone. Rinse and dry the stone with a soft, lint-free cloth. To add shine we suggest using a food grade silicone spray and buffing with a lint free cloth.

All of our gems and crystals are natural stone and may therefore have imperfections, blemishes, and variations. Please examine the product pictures carefully before making your purchase. Crystals and gems are in no way guaranteed to help, promote, heal, or cure any ailment either physical, mental, or spiritual. Healing powers listed are strictly anecdotal.
