Rose quartz is a macro-crystalline mineral, naturally occurring as large intricate crystals. Rose quartz differs from other Quartz due its pink color, produced from fibrous borosilicate. Rose Quartz beads have been found and dated as old as 7,000 BC.

In Greek mythology, the blood of Aphrodite (cut by a thorn bush) and the blood of Adonis (attacked by Ares disguised as a wild boar) mixed together and stained white quartz giving rose quartz its rose-pink color.
